Brandenburg Farmers’ Network

The “Anbauring Ostbrandenburg” (Brandenburg Farmers’ Network) consists of a group of farmers with strong regional, thematic and member overlaps. It is a scientist-farmer network, comprising about 10 mainly conventional farms. It results from the long term transdisciplinary research approach at ZALF. The network has existed for more than 15 years, is led by an advisor who is a former senior scientist at ZALF and is supported with scientific and technical resources from ZALF. The farms are mainly mixed farms (beef and dairy production and arable food, feed and forage crops) and are located in two districts in the east of the federal state of Brandenburg. All farms are regionally representative large farms of 500 ha to 4,000 ha per farm.
