Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL)

The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) was founded in 1973. It is one of the world’s leading research and information centres for organic agriculture and employs 200 experts. The close links between different fields of research and the rapid transfer of knowledge from research to agricultural practice are FiBL’s strengths. Outside Switzerland, the Institute’s competence is also sought after and FiBL is involved in numerous international projects in research, consultancy, education and development cooperation.

Role in the project

FiBL leads Work Package 6 (“Communications and impact”), and coordinates the Swiss-based actor groups’ sharing of insight to stimulate innovations along organic soya and lupin value chains, from plant breeding seed to product commercialisation. FiBL’s role in these actor groups is twofold: (a) process facilitation/moderation of network interactions, and (b) research and extension contributions.
