Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops

Founded in 1938, the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops (IFVC) is a public research institution under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. The research focuses on the development of field and vegetable crop cultivars including forage and industrial crops, medicinal plants and spice herbs. Institute provides a complete production technology for each crop. To date, more than 120 soybean varieties have been registered in Serbia and more than 30 varieties registered abroad (EU common catalogue, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova).

 

Role in the project

Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops Novi Sad leads the Soybean Cultivation Group in South-Eastern Europe Actor Group. This actor group aims to improve the profitability and sustainability of soybean production through the optimization of agronomy practices and knowledge interaction with farmers.
