In the third video, ‘Mechanical weed control in soya’ published on the Legumes Translated YouTube Channel, experts explain what must be considered in weed control when sowing your soya crop: which measures have to be taken when, which equipment to use and how, and much more.
The video takes us to the field for practical tips on successful weed-management in soya. The 5 basic pillars of good weed management in soya are explained:
1. Cultivation only in field with low weed pressure,
2. Compliance of proper crop rotations,
3. Multiple shallow cultivations before sowing,
4. Low nitrogen content in the soil,
5. Vigorous seeds and optimum sowing.
The video was produced by Legumes Translated partner, LTZ Augustenberg, as well as a fellow Germany Soybean Association member, Taifun-Tofu GmbH. It is available in German with English subtitles.
